Convention on Human Rights law was adopted in 1950 to protect human
rights and fundamental freedoms in Europe. It
established the law of the European Court of Human Rights. Any
person who believes that their rights have been violated under the

decisions of the Court of law are legally binding, and the court has
the power to award damages. The establishment of a Court Act to
protect individuals against violations of human rights is an
innovative feature for an international convention on the rights of
