Liberia general information report.
The total number of human living in the world  of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights are about 6500 million Africa . Right information report is that Liberia is Africa's oldest republic, but it became better known in the 1990s for its long-running, ruinous civil war and its role in a rebellion in neighboring Sierra Leone. Although founded by freed American and Caribbean slaves, Liberia is mostly made up of indigenous Africans, with the slaves' descendants comprising 5% of the population.The West African nation was relatively calm until 1980 when William Tolbert was overthrown by Sergeant Samuel Doe after food price riots. The coup marked the end of dominance by the minority Americo-Liberians, who had ruled since independence, but heralded a period of instability.  The infrastructure is in ruins. The UN voted to lift a ban on diamond exports, which fuelled the civil war, in April 2007. A ban on timber exports was lifted in 2006 .Around 250,000 people were killed in Liberia's civil war and many thousands more fled the fighting. The conflict left the country in economic ruin and overrun with weapons. The capital remains without mains electricity and running water. Corruption is rife and unemployment and illiteracy are endemic.

  Liberia  has adopted Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1948 and is  member state of UN human rights since   02-11-1945  .Since, all people in  Liberia are entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. These adopted human rights by  Liberia include that Slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms;  none shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment; that none shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile; Everyone in  Liberia has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit. Further :-
The Republic of Liberia is a member of International organization founded as the Organization of African Unity to promote cooperation among the independent nations of Africa. It has ratified many UN Human Rights Conventions and thus has made binding international commitments to adhere to the standards laid down in these universal human rights documents. In as far as Liberia has ratified the Optional Protocols for these Conventions, the inhabitants of Liberia and their representatives are able to invoke their human rights through these bodies. All inhabitants of Liberia may turn to the UN Human Rights Committee for violations of specific human rights.Since Liberia is an African Union Member, its citizens and NGOs may file complaints to the African Commission on Human and Peoplesí Rights. They may also file complaints according to the European Union guidelines (on Human Rights Defenders, Death Penalty and Torture) to Embassies of European Union Member States and the Delegations of the European Commission. In cases of human rights violations by multinational enterprises, they may also invoke the National Contact Point in an OECD member state. Liberia has joined the International Criminal Court, it may thus be called upon in case of severe crimes.
Right information report based on US Departments Reports, and Amnesty International and many local human rights activists is that implementation of declaration on many articles is mere formality and administration human rights record remained poor although there were improvements.  Human rights of child for education and human rights of women for dignity as given in declaration of human rights are repeatedly violated by police administration itself .Child human rights, Disability human rights, Housing human rights, employment human rights, Refugee human rights, Reproductive Rights, Trafficking human rights are repeatedly being violated and there is no check over it, by administration and adequate redresses system is not available. Other abuses of human rights included female genital mutilation , discrimination on the basis of ethnicity and nationality, and restrictions on unions.
