370 million indigenous people in world
Many countries are not even accept human rights for indigenous
peoples. Many civilizations do not care about human rights and
indigenous peoples . They have developed themselves at the cost or the death of its
indigenous peoples. Declaration of Human Rights of Indigenous
Peoples was adopted by the UN General Assembly in September
2007. Canada, with Australia, New Zealand and America,
originally voted against the Declaration of Rights of Indigenous
Peoples. So for America, the superpower has shown less interest
on the violation of human rights of indigenous peoples. So for
the United Nations could do little for those people unfortunate
natives worldwide.
I am pleased to note that in November 2010 - Canada has approved
the international treaty defining the rights of indigenous
peoples, a move welcomed by the head of a United Nations agency
dealing with the issue as a reaffirmation of the commitment
countries to the principles of respect and non-discrimination to
its indigenous people.
The recognition by Canada of the United Nations Declaration on
the Rights of Indigenous Peoples is an important step "in the
right direction towards building and strengthening relations
between Aboriginal peoples of Canada and Canada.
In 2009, Australia has also approved the treaty - a non-binding
text which defines the rights of individual and collective
rights of indigenous peoples and their rights to culture,
identity, language, employment, health, education and other
issues.
Who are indigenous peoples?
Indigenous peoples are an ethnic group living in a geographical
region to which they experienced the historical connection. ..
Indigenous peoples in Canada are considered indigenous to
Canada. Indigenous peoples of the Americas are the pre-Columbian
inhabitants of North, Central and South America, their
descendants and those who were killed by the ancestor of today's
civilization developed in America. In India, indigenous peoples
are tribal Adivasi .. Most of the indigenous peoples of India
have been forest dwellers for centuries. Traditionally, forests
met most of their food, food, medicines and other needs. Oldest
