violations of human rights and the administration. But the
activity of human rights become hard, while the administration

paper formality. The activity of human rights becomes more
difficult when the country is in turmoil and bad administration

It is difficult to become human rights activists in Muslim
countries in Pakistan, especially by women. In 2002, defender of
human rights in Pakistan Mukhtar Mai was raped on the orders of
a traditional village council as punishment for acts allegedly
committed by his younger brother. She courageously testified in
court against the men responsible for raping and using the
compensation fund, built schools for girls and boys and started
a shelter for abused women. The administration tried to silence
human rights activist Mukhtar Mai, which increased international
attention to abuses against women in Pakistan.
But Asma Jahangir is accepted and successful activists of human
rights by all in Pakistan and the international community. She
played a very calm rights activist, while girls' schools have
been destroyed by some ethnic groups in Swat and in the peace
dialogue between India and Pakistan.
