Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao is set to visit India on December,
15-17, 2010
India and China has no
clear border demarcation of four thousand kilometers, The cold kills more troops than bullets from both sides of
snow clad glaciers on the border of India and China. Fainting
and headaches for soldiers in the camps are more frequent than
any fighting on the border demarcation between
China and India. The two parties are not ready to do battle on
the roof of hell, great glaciers and snow wall between India and
China.
Highest mountains and glaciers of the great wall of snow between
India and China are natural boundaries for centuries. Also
lifeline for the two countries, major rivers in both countries
as well as
Pakistan and Bangladesh. Modern equipments with the latest
gadget made accessible these mountains of ice and
snow. Environmental change is causing rapid melting of snow and
shrinking glaciers. This causes many disputes over four thousand
kilometers of the border between India and China and the need
for demarcation of the border.
As the two Asian powers have a strong GDP growth, India is
training its army against the military power of China on
bordering posts with China. China is the second in the global
military spending, but spending in India is restricted to
protect its borders and developing fastest and best supersonic
missile of the world that can target anywhere on specific target
from air, land and deep water. To protect the border, the number and
capacity of active military personnel is important. In
2006, India's active military personnel were approximately
1,325,000, while China was significantly higher at 2,255,000.
Both know that fighting on border's natural passage
on the great glaciers of the Himalayas above is disastrous. It
will affect the rivers and the environment on both sides. Not
all soldiers are able to remain along the border.
India is already in practice of fighting with Pakistan to win the
20,000 meters high Siachen Glacier, the Highest battlefield in
the world since 1984. Pakistan and India, has about 10,000
troops camped on the Siachen Glacier.
For a soldier, Siachen Glacier is where hell freezes over, a
46-mile river of ice slowly surrounded by stupendous towers of
snow. Temperatures swoon to 50 below, and sudden blizzards can
bury field artillery in minutes. Welds sleep in the caves of ice
and breathe air so spare of oxygen that it sends their hearts
into a mad gallop. Fainting and headaches are frequent fights.
Frostbite chews its way through digits and limbs. Both parties
are daily ready to battle on the roof of hell, since
1984.

Indian Soldiers on Siachen GlacierIndian soldier on Siachen Glacier
wears five layers of clothing, chill paratroopers into
service. AN-32 airplanes approach the runway in the fog of snow,
pushed by winds. Higher on the icy peaks of the Himalayas,
helicopter pilots battle downdrafts as they land on helipads to
deliver precious supplies or rescue injured soldiers. The
soldiers returned to base camp often suffer hearing, eyesight
loss and memory loss due to prolonged use of oxygen masks. Many
lose eyes, hands or feet to frostbite. Icy summit, where
drinking water is still the melting of ice on stoves, bathing is
a rarity. Washing clothes, too, is not possible.
But it is helping India to train its soldiers and to continue to
test its fighting power against the coming war to protect his four
thousand kilometer border with China, which has no borders and
boundaries but many large glaciers like the snowy mountains of the
Himalayas.
India and China have held talks since 1980 to develop a formula
to resolve the differences in the demarcation of the border. In
2005, China and India have signed a political principle guiding
the demarcation of the border between India and China. Press
Trust of India said that the process of demarcation of the
border has received a boost after India and China have agreed to
establish special representatives. In the process,
the two countries also signed agreements of 1993 and 1996 to
maintain peace and stability in border areas. The 13th session
of border demarcation talks held in New Delhi in 2009 between
the Special Representatives, which ended without progress. Now,
Special Representatives of both countries have the 14th round of
border demarcation talks in Beijing. Indian media says that
China is serious to increase activity with India and India is
also. In this perspective, the two countries plan doing more on
border demarcation.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao plans visit to India to convey
we may be be friends in the near future , but now .. Thus, attempts to solve the demarcation of borders and
clear any misunderstanding between both sides, are on the agenda.
India is also awaiting Chinese stand on supporting India's
candidature for permanent seat on the Security Council after the
US's support by Barack Obama during his recent visit to New
Delhi. India and China are also considering the mutual
recognition of certificates of higher education, a measure that
would facilitate cross-border mobility of students for advanced
studies and employment purposes. In many Indian schools,
learning Chinese have become fashion .
China and India is on the path of understanding and joint efforts to
give relief to the world in recession. India is set to welcome
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao during his visit to India
on December 15-17, 2010 .
